The Class 350 Desiro  electrical multiple unit (EMU) were built by Siemens AG between 2004 and 2014. The first 30 of these EMUs were built for use by Central Trains and Silverlink as Class 350/1 with no franchise logos on them in grey and blue.  Both the Central Trains and Silverlink franchise's ended in 2007. At this point, the entire fleet was transferred to the new West Midlands franchisee called London Midland and more  class 350 EMUs were ordered, making the total now is around 77.

The West Midlands franchise is now (2016) called London Midland and is run by Govia. This franchise was due to end in 2015 but was extended to 2016, and now to 2017.
